Frequently asked questions

What Trophy is, how you get in, and how the club actually works. Members have a fuller help center inside the app.

The club

Trophy is a private club for competitive tennis players. Find real opponents at your level, play ranked matches, enter tournaments and ladders, build a match history, and climb the leaderboard. Your Coach — an AI that lives throughout the app — handles the logistics so you can focus on playing.
Three ways. A member can invite you directly. You can join with an invite code — from a club, a league, or wherever you heard about us. Or, while founding places last, through our founding-member offer, which needs a founding code and gives you 90 days plus a full year if you play three matches in them. The first two both start 60 days free with no card. No code? Ask us for an invite from the bottom of the home page and we'll send you one. Trophy is opening in Atlanta and building across Georgia first, so that's where you'll find the most opponents today.
Everything. Trophy is one flat membership at $9.99 a month — no free tier, no upgrades, no per-feature gating. That covers ranked play, tournaments and ladders, the full Coach including scouting and match analysis, notes and memory, courts, groups, the community feed, messaging, and your profile and rankings. Your first 60 days are free and we don't ask for a card until they're up.
You decide, per item. Your profile page, match history, stats, and badges can each be set to public, friends only, or private — and you control who may message you, challenge you, send you a friend request, or invite you to a tournament. You can block a player outright. Your email, home address, billing details, and private notes are never visible to other members.

Playing

Three ways. Ask Coach — “who should I play this week?” — and it returns real players in your division, ranked by how well your schedules overlap and how close you are in level, each with a suggested slot you can turn into a challenge on the spot. Browse the open calls other members have posted and join one that suits. Or post your own, either at an exact time or as a flexible window — a day plus a morning, midday, afternoon, or evening — so you can put it up first and pin down the hour once someone bites.
You pick your level when you sign up — the same 1.0 to 5.0 scale as an NTRP rating — and that becomes your Trophy Rating. From there your results take over: every ranked match moves it, kept separately for singles and doubles. It moves faster while it is still placing you, and it reads “provisional” until you have played ten matches against a spread of opponents — beating the same person over and over never settles it. Any other ratings you hold (USTA, UTR, ALTA, T2, Ultimate Tennis) sit on your profile as context.
Ranked matches award Trophy points and move your Trophy Rating; they feed the leaderboard. Points and rating are two different things: points are what you have done, so a win is always worth points and a loss never costs you any, while your rating is how good you are, and it moves on the gap between the two ratings. Beating a much stronger player moves it a lot; beating a much weaker one barely registers, and losing a close one to somebody well above you can still move it up. Every match is ranked by default — you untick it to keep one casual, which is the right call for hitting sessions and group play. Both players report the result and it settles once you agree; a disputed score moves nothing until it is resolved.
One-day draws, round robins, and season-long activity ladders. Events are run by Trophy organizers, so what's on offer is whatever the club has on the calendar. Play is organized into men's and women's divisions and you enter your own; doubles events are entered as a team with your partner. A ladder is a season rather than a draw — players self-schedule challenges among themselves at their own courts and score for every match played, win or lose, with the top finishers seeded into a playoff at the end.

Your Coach

Coach is Trophy's built-in AI, and it's the same one voice everywhere. Part fixer: it finds opponents, sends challenges, logs scores, and scouts whoever you're about to play. Part coach: it reads your real match history — your record, your patterns, your head-to-heads — and gives you practical advice on tactics, training, and the mental game. It's included for every member; nothing about it is held back.
No. Anything that writes — a challenge, a score, a message, a profile change — comes back as an approval card you confirm or reject first. The one exception is notes: when you say “remember this,” Coach saves it quietly rather than interrupting you with a card.
